OUR ARTISANS

Selecting our curated network of artisans takes time and patience. The first requirement for all our contributors and associates is that they much share our common vision. We protect freedom of association and collective bargaining, and even foresee alternate means as necessary. We are against all types of discrimination, harassment and abuse. Not a single Wayra employee, artisan or associate works under coercion, exploitation or accepts corruption in any forms. No child labor is used, whatsoever.

Our employees carry out their activities in a safe setting and a healthy environment. They receive fair and timely payment, with every legal benefit. The work activities are carried out within working hours, with strict observance for the rest days our employees are entitled to. Wayra is comitted to improve the artisan´s quality of life and to keep creating sustainable development around the country.

OUR SETTINGS

Our firm strictly complies with environmental laws, we are concerned for the environment and we respect wildlife. Most of all, we want to create a big impact in the life of the artisans we work with. This is why our activities have a long-term vision, and are always concerned with caring for everybody’s home, both for today and the future generations. This is reflected in all our products, and our community of artisans experience the satisfaction knowing their work is highly appreciated and valued.

AIA

We are part of the AIA, the International Alpaca Association in Peru that seeks to position alpaca fiber in the world textile market, achieving its recognition as one of the world’s finest fibers with ancient history and beneficial properties.

The association aims to promote a stable demand, sustainable growth, and benefits for all the links in the value chain (such as breeders, industrialists, garment-makers, traders and designers).

The ALPACA MARK guarantees the content and quality of the alpaca fiber used in the different products that bear the ALPACA MARK.
